Right now I start by checking with my hand; and for "accuracy" I use the not so accurate oral digital thermometer. Thanks for the chance. iclipalso(at)yahoo(dot)com

i used under the armpit with my girls but that doesn't work with my son. even the ear thermometer doesn't work (as they discovered in the er). i just use my lips on his forehead now. i don't know the exact temp. but at least i know if he has a fever!
  • pestkaj · 8 months ago

Nothing right now since my digital ear thermometer went wacko & the kids are too young to sit still for the oral. I use the good old-fashioned back of hand on the head & back & watch their behavior.

I use an ear thermometer. My kids wiggle and squirm for it and I always get an error message. Then if they have an ear infection, they won't let me anyway near them.

We are only 2 adults in our house, so fortunately we don't get sick very often. Most times just feeling the forehead will tell if we have a temp. But when it's serious, I use an oral thermometer. I have a hard time reading it, so this Exergen TemporalScanner would be wonderful.
